About us

Elmbridge Community Eco Hub, is a totally independent not for profit organisation based in Walton-on-Thames. We provide a safe space where everyone in the community can access a variety of environmental, social and educational initiatives all under one roof. Initiatives include:

A Library of Things will offer affordable rental of items such as power tools, garden tools, kitchen equipment etc saving items from landfill. EG why buy, store, maintain a hedge trimmer when you can rent one for ~ £5 per day.

A Community Fridge supplying fresh food to anyone - for FREE. The food is donated by local retail outlets, supermarkets and individual members of the community for consumption on the day of collection.

A community garden. We have secured a 1/4 acre plot which was formerly a bowling green and with the help of many volunteers have converted it into 3 distinct areas. 1) an allotment style veg and fruit growing area. 2) a sensory garden for all to enjoy 3) a wild flower meadow - for everyone including the local wildlife to walk through and relax in.

A plastic free, zero waste retail point. We provide plastic/chemical free options of household and personal cleaning liquids such as non bio detergent, fabric conditioner, washing up liquid, hand soap, white wine vinegar and window and glass cleaner. Bring your own containers and only pay for what you need.

A skill share - potential to learn or practice a language, a music instrument, drawing, knitting, sewing, growing food at home, using a computer or laptop, exercises and activities promoting health, wellbeing and sustainability.

A repair café – Volunteers will help you to repair small items such as a radio, headphones, small furniture, upholstery, clothing etc – depending on professional personals availability.

A book swap, jigsaw and game swap.

A seed bank - collecting and sharing fruit, veg and flower seeds with people in our community.

Litter picking - first Sunday of every month starting at your home and ending at the Hub at 10am for complementary refreshments.

We need your help so we can continue to offer and expand our service! As a Not-For-Profit we rely on donations and help to pay the bills, pay suppliers and secure our sustainability.

Thank you for your support and good luck!

Yours sincerely,

Mr Michael Tumilty
